Extreme School Makeover - June 16-June 20 2007
The Millburn Middle School was in need of its own extreme makeover. Shrubs and plants were decades old and out of control.
Millburn 5K Road Race - June 18, 2007
On June 18, 2007, we participated during Millburn's annual 5K Road Race. South Mountain Church distributed free popcorn, bottled waters and sno cones.
With gasoline prices exceeding $3.10, what better time to give away $1,000 of gas. South Mountain sought to meet the needs of motorists on June 16 helping to fill their tanks. In addition, as motorist awaited their turn, they received bottled water, gold fish snacks -- and had their windshields cleaned.
Millburn Arts Fair - October 2, 2006
We served the community by sponsoring the Kids Corner at the 2006 Millburn Arts Fair. We did face painting, miniature pumpkin painting, several family games, and a "guess the weight of the giant pumpkin" contest.
Paint the School - June 28-Aug 18, 2006
South Mountain served the Millburn Middle School over the summer mobilizing 135 volunteers, using 175 gallons of paint, gave a face lift to 39 rooms, 6 hallways, and 1 cafeteria.
South Mountain Summer Sport Camps - July 17 - July 28, 2006
South Mountain served children by offered a fun and educational sports camps the weeks of July 17 and July 24. Everyone went home with a wrist bands, water bottles, jerseys, and a new basketball.
Millburn Middle School Block Party - June 23, 2006
South Mountain kicked off the Middle School painting project with a block party for the 700+ students. There was popcorn, sno-cones, inflatable games, sports games, carnival games, and prizes for everyone. One lucky student went home with a new iPod Nano.
What better way to spend time with friends and family than at "the ballpark." We trekked to Newark to watch the Newark Bears take on the York Revolution.
Millburn 5K Road Race - June 19, 2006
On Monday, June 19, South Mountain served 2000 serious runners, 350 fun-loving kids, and hundreds of spectators with Water, Gatorade, Sno-Cones, and Popcorn.
We served our community by helping make a dent in the rising prices of gas. South Mountain gave away $1000 worth of gas at the Short Hills Sunoco on May 27.
